• How to choose a supplement

There is a lot, lot, and lot of supplements out there, ranging from cheap to EXPENSIVE from highly chemical ones to whole food ones. So how does one choose...
    1. For me, the first thing I look for is ingredients list, I want to make sure that I am not allergic to any of the items in there.
    2. I do look for those that are more natural or whole food based, but sometime if they are vitamins they do not list the percentages or all the specific type of  vitamins.
    3. Also, the potency on these vitamins also make a difference. I found that those that are cheaper usually have less concentration of the ingredients. So cheaper is not necessarily more economically, you may have to take more of it just to reach the daily amount of unit needed.

There was a recent article on Living Without on this very topic, called "The Right Supplement: How to pick a decent multivitamin" I will recommend you read, or at least browse through.

Also, this is my nutritionist livingbynutrition.com check list on choosing the right company for supplementation.
    1. Does the company make their own products in their own designated facility?
    2. Is the facility FDA licensed?
    3. What are the sources of the ingredients?
    4. Does the company have true human clinical data published in peer review journal?
    5. Does the company have their own in house scientific staff?
    6. How long does it take the company to bring products to the market?
    7. Google the company name along with search words like, scam, law suit, financial or product recall.
